Miller Industries Introduces Updated Century 9055XL Heavy-Duty 50-Ton Wrecker with Enhanced Strength and Operator Focused Improvements

We're proud to announce the release of the updated Century® 9055XL, a 50-ton heavy-duty wrecker featuring targeted design enhancements that focus on increased strength, smoother operation, and improved serviceability. The Century 9055XL has long been a trusted solution for demanding heavy-duty towing and recovery applications. This latest update builds on that legacy with structural refinements driven directly by realworld operator feedback and engineering innovation. 

Key updates include a redesigned underlift with stronger pivot geometry, reducing force on the pivot pin to improve durability and longterm performance. A new low 5x5 crossbar and pivot head further enhances towing clearance while maintaining the strength expected from a 50-ton platform. The updated 9055XL also features 4-plate inner and outer jack legs equipped with Nylatron® wear pads, delivering increased strength and smoother, more consistent operation during lifting and stabilization. 

To expand recovery versatility, extendable outriggers now include integrated shackle lugs, providing additional anchoring options in challenging recovery environments. Operator access and safety are further enhanced with the addition of tailgate steps, making rear-of-unit access more convenient in daily operation.

The updated Century 9055XL is now available through Miller Industries’ authorized distributor network, and an updated version of the Century 9055 is now in trial production.
